Data Deletion Instructions

Your Right to Data Deletion

GuestSet respects your right to have your personal data deleted. If you have interacted with GuestSet through Facebook / Meta Login or WhatsApp, or if you are a hotel staff member or guest whose data is stored on our platform, you may request complete deletion of your personal data at any time.

What Data We Hold

  • Your name, email address, and phone number (if you registered or were checked in)
  • WhatsApp message delivery logs (phone number + timestamps)
  • Booking history and transaction records (retained per legal obligation — see below)
  • Login session tokens and access logs

How to Request Deletion

You have two options:

Option 1 — Email Request

Send an email to privacy@guestset.in with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Include:

  • Your full name
  • Email address or phone number associated with your account
  • Name of the hotel (if you are a guest)

We will confirm receipt within 48 hours and complete the deletion within 30 days.

Option 2 — Account Self-Service (Staff)

If you are a hotel staff member, log in to your GuestSet account → Settings → Account → Delete Account. This immediately deactivates your profile and schedules all associated personal data for deletion within 30 days.

What Happens After Deletion

  • Your personal identifiers (name, email, phone) are permanently deleted or anonymised
  • Login sessions and tokens are immediately invalidated
  • WhatsApp message logs associated with your number are deleted
  • Exception: Booking and invoice records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by the GST Act and Income Tax Act, 1961 (India). These records are anonymised where possible.

Confirmation

Once deletion is complete, we will send a confirmation email to the address you provided. If you do not receive confirmation within 30 days, please follow up at privacy@guestset.in.
